CLN Job Bulletin: Jamestown Community Learning Council, Executive Director

 

 

Job Title: Executive Director

Job Summary: The Jamestown Community Learning Council is a successful not-for-profit agency seeking an experienced executive to lead our organization through an upcoming period of growth and transition. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our organization, ensuring that we are operating efficiently and effectively to meet all goals. In this role, you will be the face of our organization, working closely with the Board of Trustees and community partners—both public and private agencies. You will ensure that staff members are aligned with the organization’s mission and vision and that we are working together to achieve strategic objectives. Our organization has a close-knit culture in which we place a high priority on communication, recognition and collaboration. We are in search of an executive who is aligned with our culture and will continue to enhance it through positive leadership.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Innovative program development and effective implementation
• Grant writing
• Collaborate with public and private agencies, including foundations
• Maintain liaison between the Board, staff, agencies, component schools and administrators
• Issues management with Board of Trustees
• Personnel hiring, relevant training, supervision and evaluation
• Annual reports and program evaluation
• Yearly budget development and fiscal office management
• Public relations

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Previous experience in a senior leadership role
• Demonstrated ability in developing and/or implementing successful strategic plans
• Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication, presentation and relationship development
• In-depth knowledge of best practices in management and governance
• Knowledge of financial strategies, including budget development and fiscal office management
• Basic understanding of early childhood development, parenting education and families in poverty
• Experience with public and private agencies, including foundations
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Effective interpersonal skills
