CLN Board and Officers

President

Kristy Kathman, Class of 2016

As Jamestown Renaissance Corporation’s Deputy Director, Kristy helps property owners, businesses, and other JRC partners navigate a wide range of urban and business development processes. She also manages the Downtown Business Incentive programs, and helps out with the events that JRC puts on each year. She loves being part of the team whose job is to make the place she lives a better place to live.

Kristy has ridden her bicycle over 3,000 miles out west, and along the countryside in France. She has been to 47 states, and loves to travel, but believes there’s no place like home. Kristy is married to Jason, and they have two fantastic kids, Katie and Tommy. In addition to her family, Kristy is also passionate about volleyball, The Golden Girls, chips and salsa, and their two dogs, Charlie and Emma.

Past President

Dan Heitzenrater, Past Present, Class of 2015

Daniel served as President in 2018. He works as Executive Assistant to the Chautauqua County Executive where he oversees various County initiatives, intergovernmental relations and communications. He also serves on the Ellicott Town Council.
He is passionate about good leadership, effective government, and making a positive impact in his community. Dan lives in Falconer with his wife Jessica and their two dogs Indiana and Tucker. He enjoys skeet shooting, golf, yard work, woodworking, and working on their house and vehicles. He is also involved in the community as a member of the Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees.

Treasurer

Jen Peters, Treasurer, Class of 2015

Jennifer is the Director of Finance & Administration at United Way of Southern Chautauqua County. Jen is a co-owner of Fresh Press Studios with her husband and business partners and an adjunct instructor at Jamestown Business College. Jennifer is the co-chair of CLN’s Financial Sustainability committee.

Jennifer earned her MBA from St. Bonaventure University. She lives in Lakewood with her husband, Gary, and daughter, Chloe. She enjoys the spending time outside as long as it’s warm and sunny.

President Elect

Kerri Brown, Present Elect, class of 2008

Kerri, has varied experiences in the field of higher education and workforce development, with a Bachelor of Science in Interpersonal Communication and a Master of Education in Career & Technology Education from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She recently earned a graduate certificate in Executive Coaching from Bellevue University, where she works as a Relationship Manager in partnership with Jamestown Community College. Kerri has been active in CLN over the years, serving as co-chair of the Program Development committee prior to role of President-elect and co-chair of the Organizational effectiveness committee. Kerri enjoys spending time with her husband, Kyle (class of 2010) and two sons plus pursuing creative activities including nature photography.

Coordinator

Katie Young, Coordinator, Class of 2016

Katie was born and raised in the beautiful mountains of Heber City, UT. She has her BS in Behavioral Science. She worked for Utah Valley University for 15 years before she and her family decided to adventure out and move to Lakewood, NY.

Katie and her husband Kirk have 3 beautiful children who keep them running. She enjoys being on the soccer field watching her boys and the dance studio with her daughter. She serves in her church and loves spending time with friends and family.

Secretary

Leah Gustafson, Secretary, Class of 2017

Leah is Vice President of Filegar Cutting Technologies which sells, services and manufacturers industrial cutting tools. She has also served as Education Coordinator for Chautauqua Striders, and as a personal trainer and fitness instructor at the Jamestown and Lakewood YMCAs and the Turner Center at Chautauqua Institution. She once owned her own fitness studio in Jamestown called MOVE.

Leah and her husband Neal, have 4 sons and 2 dogs! Her community activities include serving on the boards of both CASA and Creche, and mentoring through Chautauqua Striders.
Leah believes in and supports all things local. Leah loves living in Chautauqua County and exploring and enjoying all our county has to offer!

The Chautauqua Leadership Board of Directors are charged with the over site of the organization. This includes ongoing operation as well as plans for future growth and improvement of the CLN along with maintaining and improving the benefits offered to the current classes and the general membership. 

The Board is informed by and assisted by several member committees which support their assigned subject areas. The Coordinator handles day-to-day operations of the organization and interacts with both the board and the committees.

Tracy Collingwood

Tracy Collingwood

Director. 2017-2019

Class of 2006, Tracy is the Director of Engagement and Career Development at the State University of New York at Fredonia. Tracy serves on various regional career development and economic planning committees. She is also Chair of the WNY Career Services Directors’ Council, Employer Chair for the USA Buffalo Area Teacher Recruitment Days, and Website Manager for the Western New York Association of College Career Centers and the Coalition of Chautauqua County Women and Girls.  

Tracy received her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration focusing on College Student Services and Development from the University at Buffalo. She is actively involved in the community as a leader and is a graduate of the WNY Women’s Leadership Institute and Fredonia Leadership Academy.

Ben Lindquist

Ben Lindquist

Director. 2017-2019

Class of 2014, Ben joined the board of CLN to give back to an organization that has further developed his professional and personal life.  He is a Benefits Consultant of Individual and Senior Health Insurance at Lawley Insurance, and is a licensed and certified insurance agent and broker.  As a testicular cancer survivor Ben is the President and Founder of One Ball Foundation. Ben serves on the board of Falconer Little League, Jamestown Area Community Federal Credit Union, and Jamestown Babe Ruth World Series.  Past careers include professional baseball umpire in Minor League Baseball, Director and Assistant Director of Athletics at Jamestown Community College in Olean & Jamestown, Executive Director at Chautauqua Striders and Director of Senior Benefits at Arcade Senior Services in Jamestown.

A lifelong resident of Chautauqua County and graduate of Falconer Central School, Jamestown Community College and Houghton College with a B.S. in Management, Ben lives in Falconer with his wife and two children.
Monica Kemp-Simpson

Monica Kemp-Simpson

Director. 2017-2019

Class of 2016, As Program Manager at the Fredonia Technology Incubator for 4 years, Monica works with startup clients by coordinating essential services for the businesses to grow including access to resources. She manages interns, community engagement projects and  programming at the Incubator. Monica worked at the UB Incubator for 2 years before transferring to Dunkirk and embracing the Chautauqua County community.

Monica’s community activities include Marketing Director at the Dunkirk Lighthouse, Co-Chair of Northern Chautauqua Young Professionals, Board Member for the Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Dunkirk dog park advisory committee, voting member at NCCF, Junior Achievement teacher and JA WNY advisory committee member. She is the 2018 recipient of the Pam Lydic Coalition Builder Award. She is an avid runner, stand up paddle boarder, boater and breeds chocolate labs. She has one child and lives in Forestville with her husband.

Bill Burley

Director. 2018-2020

Class of 2005, Bill is currently a Board Member and a member of the Branding and Marketing Committee. He is a past member of the SkyJam Committee (2005 – 2009).

 Bill Currently works as a Real Estate Associate Broker at Century 21 Turner Brokers. He also serves as Secretary/Co-President of the Jamestown AM Rotary, as Marketing Chair on the Board of the Lakewood Memorial Library, and on the PR Committee for the Chautauqua/Cattaraugus Board of Realtors.

Bill resides in Celoron, NY with his partner Scott Mekus and dog Lexy.

Denise Burbey

Director. 2018-2020 (2nd Term)

Class of 1999,  As Executive Director of Technology at Jamestown Community College Denise provides leadership and strategic direction for college’s technology areas at four locations. As a member of JCC’s Leadership Council, Denise forges partnerships across various departments to accomplish goals in support of the college’s mission and strategic direction.

Developing leaders is one of her passions and she has been an active member of Chautauqua Leadership Network since 1999,

Class of 2004, Donna is Branch Manager Northwest Savings Bank Mayville NY and Lakewood NY. She is a resident of Gerry, NY.
Former employers: M&T Bank 25 years; BVQI (NA) 4 years; YWCA of Jamestown 2 years
Graduate of Houghton College BS in Business Management and JCC, AAS Business Administration
Spouse: Todd Flinchbaugh, two adult children Tara (Lexington, KY) and Troy (Fredonia, NY)

Zach Agett

Zach Agett

Director. 2019-2021

Class of 2018, Zach is the Marketing and Events Manager at Jamestown Renaissance Corporation, and also manages the Jamestown Up Close Brand. Zach is dedicated to making Jamestown and Chautauqua County the best place it can be and works closely with multiple attractions, businesses, and groups downtown to improve communication and promote Greater Jamestown.

Zach is married to Bree, CLN Class of 2016, and together they have created two awesome boys. In their free time, they love to get out and see all that Chautauqua County has to offer.

Tim Piazza

Director. 2019-2021

Class of 2003, Timothy W. Piazza Ph.D. is the Talent Pipeline Manager and Apprenticeship Program Coordinator. Previously Tim was the Manager of Product Development for SKF Aeroengine North America.  He has spent all his professional career in research and development, post-secondary education and manufacturing.

Timothy, a lifelong resident of Jamestown, is married to an incredibly beautiful and talented wife who is a pre-K teacher at SWCS.  He has a ten-year-old son who luckily takes after his mother.

Lindsay VandeVelde

Lindsay VandeVelde

Director. 2019-2021

Class of 2018, Lindsay is the Director of the community-based services at the Tanglewood Group, located in Jamestown, NY, managing three programs including:  Comfort Today Social Adult Day Services, Partners in Care Homecare, and Friend for a Day companion services since 2015.

Lindsay holds a BS in Communication Disorders & Sciences from SUNY Fredonia, with a minor in Psychology.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and baking/decorating cakes.  Lindsay lives in Falconer, NY with her husband and two children.
